Breath Control

They say that when you hold the breath in, Kumbhaka, you are releasing the Kundalini stored in the base of the spine. Unless you do Yoga this Kundalini stays coiled up there keeping one from attaining enlightenment. Kumbhaka also cleanses the respiratory system and increasses oxygen flow to the brain. There are 2 types of Kumbhaka: 1) retention after inhale, Antara. 2) retention after exhale, Bahya.

Try holding in the breath for 6 counts, and then hold the breath out for 6 counts for 5 minutes everyday for 7 days and see if this doesn't make you notice a difference in the way you feel
